Fuel Crisis….What Crisis??

They will have us all spinning out of control soon, with everyone doing their best to come up with the right story line, Opec is lying, no the governments are fibbing, no the Saudis are the ones that cut production, does it really matter, will it bring the price down? NO! You are the only one that can take action, not like a vendetta against fuel companies, don’t use their fuel, have a sit in on their forecourt, all very courageous and commendable and it won’t change a thing! YOU have to… Continue

RESEARCHERS SAY ARCTIC SEA ICE STILL AT RISK DESPITE COLD WINTER

March 18, 2008 Using the latest satellite observations, NASA researchers and others report that the Arctic is still on "thin ice" when it comes to the condition of sea ice cover in the region. A colder-than-average winter in some regions of the Arctic this year has yielded an increase in the area of new sea ice, while the older sea ice that lasts for several years has continued to decline. On March 18 the scientists said they believe that the increased area of sea ice this winter is due to rec… Continue

'TIPPING POINTS' COULD COME THIS CENTURY

A number of key components of the earth's climate system could pass their 'tipping point' this century, according to new research led by a scientist at the University of East Anglia.

Published today by the prestigious international journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Science (PNAS), the researchers have coined a new term, 'tipping elements', to describe those components of the climate system that are at risk of passing a tipping point.

The term 'tipping

NASA DATA LINK POLLUTION TO RAINY SUMMER DAYS IN THE SOUTHEAST USA

February 1, 2008

Rainfall data from a NASA satellite show that summertime storms in the southeastern United States shed more rainfall midweek than on weekends. Scientists say air pollution from humans is likely driving that trend.

The link between rainfall and the day of the week is evident in data from NASA's Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission satellite, known as TRMM. Midweek storms tend to be stronger, drop more rain and span a larger

Monday November 19, 2007 Scientists agree global warming is killing the world

The latest international update on climate change says global warming is turning oceans acidic and threatening marine life but offers new hope - the cost of tackling carbon emissions is modest and the means to do it are already available.

The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change yesterday delivered its strongest warning yet, calling the rise in global temperatures "unequivocal" and its effects potentially irreversible and laying blame - with at least 90 per cent probabi

Gulf Stream

Dramatic temperature shifts have happened in the past, driven partly by changes in a major ocean currents.

A "great ocean conveyor" helps transport heat around the globe via surface and deep-sea movements of water.

Scientists are exploring whether global warming might slow or shut it down - a scenario considered "low probability, high impact".

This could disrupt mostly wind-driven surface currents such as the Gulf Stream, which helps to bring milder weather to Northern Eu

Global Dimming!!

We are all seeing rather less of the Sun. Scientists looking at five decades of sunlight measurements have reached the disturbing conclusion that the amount of solar energy reaching the Earth's surface has been gradually falling. Paradoxically, the decline in sunlight may mean that global warming is a far greater threat to society than previously thought.

The effect was first spotted by Gerry Stanhill, an English scientist working in Israel. Comparing Israeli sunlight records from the

Co2 Calculations for One Day of no driving!

Ok to blow your mind then. 600 million car drivers in the world, that is just cars! If they all stopped for one day and we assume they would have driven an average of 50 miles on that day, which actually is very little we would stop 10,800,000,000 (That is 10.8 Billion Kgs) of Co2 going into the atmosphere!!!! Grim outlook for poor countries in climate report

The effects of climate change will be felt sooner than scientists realised and the world must learn to live with the effects, experts said today.

Professor Martin Parry, a climate scientist with the Met Office, said destructive changes in temperature, rainfall and agriculture were now forecast to occur several decades earlier than thought.

He said vulnerable people such as the old and poor would be the worst affected, and that world leaders had not yet accepted their countries w

Warning of roads hell with 6m more cars by 2031 - Ownership set to rise from 27.8m to 33.5m

Britain will descend into "traffic hell" with nearly 6m more cars running on British roads by 2031, an environmental group has warned. The Campaign for Better Transport is urging the government to cut car use by investing in the rail network, as well as improving bus services and making public transport cheaper.

According to government projections, a further 5.7m cars will be on British roads over the next 20 years, increasing the overall traffic load by

September 15, 2007 - Arctic Sea Ice Has Shrunk to Lowest Level On Record.

"We have seen the ice-covered area drop to just around 3 million square kilometers,
which is about 1 million square kilometers less than the previous minima of 2005
and 2006. There has been a reduction of the ice cover over the last 10 years of about
100, 000 square kilometers per year on average, so a drop of 1 million square kilometers
in just one year is extreme. That raises flags that the ice (in summer) may disappear much
